Facilities Manager (Part-Time 20 hrs/week)

The Facilities Manager will plan for and maintain our 80,000 sq. ft. facility consisting of two buildings including general office space and a warehouse. Management of company-wide warehouse activities and assuring accurate asset inventory and timely delivery of goods is also part of this role.

Looking for a hands on  Part-Time Manager that can do basic construction and repairs on own!

  Essential Functions
  • Evaluate, plan and forecast facilities needs (design/construction, space management/utilization/energy management) for entire organization
  •  Develop facility-related budget plans (strategic development planning, capital requirements, maintenance and operations)
  • Coordinate the scheduling of work involving staff, vendors, consultants and contractors
  • Oversee facility operations, maintenance, repair, security and safety management
  • Manage SDDPC warehouse staff and functions to ensure accurate asset inventory and timely delivery of goods
  • Provide 24x7x365 support, as required
  • Occasional travel within the city of San Diego
 Skills, Experience, and Education
  • Minimum 5 years experience in facilities planning, budgets, maintenance, building upgrades and lease/acquisitions
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Facilities Management field is a must as well as the ability to complete difficult and complex assignments
  • Working knowledge of architectural, engineering, planning and design principles, with thorough knowledge of estimating practices
  • Must have strong project management and supervisory skills
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills/techniques
  • Must be customer oriented and possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of computer software products, such as spreadsheets, word processing and facilities design/cost estimating
  • LEED Certification preferable
  • Solar knowledge preferable 
  • Certification in Facilities Management is desired
  • Ability to travel to locally to other sites
