This position is responsible for directing and managing the integration of technology and staff to deliver information services for San Diego Data Processing Corporation and the City of San Diego.


 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 
  • Provide leadership in the development of new customers for IT Services, specifically in the IT Professional services area
  • Provide leadership by developing department standards and procedures, open communication with staff and client, create an atmosphere of collaboration, consensus and mutual goal setting
  • Facilitate meetings, prepare and conduct professional presentations
  • Develop annual operating budget, monitor department expenditures
  • Provide direction and assistance in coordination of projects, prioritize workload
  • Coordinate with project managers and client relation managers to develop and approve estimates for proposals; review and make recommendations for Requests For Proposals (RFP)
  • Establishes staffing requirements, participates in selection process, conducts appraisals, and identifies training, education and development needs
  • Report to executive management department information in credible, standardized and timely manner
  • Ensure service to clients is efficient, effective and meets expectations, priorities and deadlines; maintaining a seamless relation between corporation and client
  • Provides 24/hr/7 day support as directed
 SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
  • Minimum of 7 years in Information Technology
  • Minimum of 5 years in a management/supervisory/lead role
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry standard best practices associated with application portfolio management, application life cycle management,
  • Ability to direct and manage staff, provide professional leadership
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong Project Management and System Development methodology skills
  • Knowledge of information technology and business practices; keeping current with industry
  • Experience and/or ability to learn desktop software
  • Understanding of project management practices and methods
  • Experience working independently making decisions which will foster team environment and effective client relations
  • Ability to develop and manage budget
