2011 A Productive Year for SDDPC

Released: 23 Dec 11

This has been an event filled and very productive year for SDDPC as we fulfill our mission to provide top quality services to our customers.

City of San Diego SkylineThis has been an event filled and very productive year for SDDPC. Our efforts in restructuring and optimizing the organization have paid enormous dividends and enabled us to fulfill our mission of providing even more cost effective computing, network and application services to our customers. Our continued re-engineering efforts will result in our rates being reduced by an average of over 20% in FY13.

In concert with the business plan submitted to the City Council, we have generated revenue from non-city customers and partnered with Affiliated Computer Services (ACS) to respond to the City's RFP. We are very proud of our response which is realistic, cost effective and brings significant added value.

In addition, we have had many other significant successes this past year, including:

  • Migrating all applications and services off of the Mainframe
  • Partnering with the City and Deloitte on the CCS project
  • Meeting and exceeding the City's SLA expectations
  • Transitioning the procurement functions to the City
  • Enhancing security for all City data
  • Contributing technology expertise for the City's new Library
  • Implementing Enterprise ARJIS
  • Supporting the City continuously through the county-wide power outage in September

Our focus in the coming year will be providing continued operational excellence, protecting the institutional knowledge of SDDPC and the City's applications, and contributing our expertise to ensure risk-free service continuity during any transition activities. We all look forward to a successful and prosperous 2012.
